Eight authors, eight Celtic festivals...all weaved into one tapestry.

A Celtic Tapestry.

Welcome to the official release of A CELTIC TAPESTRY!

The wheel of the year turns, bringing the joy of spring, the warmth of summer, the richness of autumn, and the merriment of winter. But eight Celtic festivals link these seasons together, bringing with them romance, lust, danger, and even magic. From a city under threat from night-time creatures at Ostara, to a selkie caught by the light of the Lughnasadh moon, to a writer caught in the flames of a fiery goddess at Imbolc.
Eight authors have come together to give their own twist on these festivals, weaving each story with a blend of myth, magic, and contemporary telling…to create A Celtic Tapestry.

Interview and Review with Genevieve Scholl!!

Hello my lovelies! We're bring some sexy holiday spirit to The Lindsay Show today with my fantabulous friend, Genevieve Scholl! She's here to talk about her latest release, Love Claus. As if that wasn't enough awesomeness for you, I decided to sneak in a review of her book! So sit back with your coffee or tea, turn on some Christmas tunes, and enjoy the show!

Be sure to grab your copy of Love Claus! At just $0.99 it's a bargain :)
Genevieve is donating $15 for every $100 in royalties to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Disease Research!!

Interview

Hey Genevieve! First of all, I have LOVED getting to know you! :) Second of all, freaking loved your book but we'll get to that later haha. When did you know you wanted to be a writer?

When I was little, I used to write stories about turtles and bunnies, so I’ve always been a writer at heart I guess. But, in High School I was bullied quite a bit and the stories were the only way for me to express my feelings. In fact, I started out killing the bullies, but eventually I evolved into more subtle revenge lol. So, I guess you could say I’ve always been meant to be a writer.
OMG that's awesome. Who doesn't love turtles and bunnies :D What has been the most difficult part about being a writer?

I’m not sure really. Since it’s my passion, there really isn’t any difficult part, but to be realistic I suppose there are parts that I love more than others. Being self published, the promotion is a tad bit more challenging, but I find ways.
For me, promoting definitely tops my list of hardest things. Who are your favorite authors?

Nora Roberts, Lora Leigh, Darynda Jones, James Patterson, and Christy Parks top my list.

Those are all awesome authors :) What authors inspire you?

Richard Castle

You know, I haven't read any of the books but I freaking ADORE "Castle." See? Even more reason you're awesome :) Do you like to plan your scenes out or do you just wing it?

When I started, I winged it, but now I have my very own murder board!

That's interesting how your style changed. Having a murder board has got to be fun though! What type of books do you like to read?

I read mostly anything, but romance and paranormal are my favorites.

Those are my two favorite genres. What do you like to do in your free time?

Free time? What’s that? Lol… In addition to being a writer, I am also a photographer, crafter, artist, and am studying for my Paralegal degree.
LOL I know right? It's fun to still ask that question but I should know by now that none of us actually has any free time. Where is your favorite place to vacation?

Ireland

You've been to Ireland?! And you've never told me?! I MUST SEE PICTURES! Sorry, Ireland's a little obsession of mine. I'm dying to go one day. We're technically past the holiday season but since this is a holiday themed book I've got to ask anyway. Do you have any special holiday traditions?

Not really, except my mom and I put up the Christmas tree on Black Friday and take it down on my birthday.
I have a confession. My Christmas tree is still up lol. Why did you choose to write a holiday romance?

Christmas is my favorite time of year and I still believe in Santa Claus, even at the age of 25.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with believing in Santa Claus. Santa is awesome. What has been the most fun about working on your books?

The beginning. There’s no other feeling like looking at that blank canvas and waiting to paint with your words.
Alright see here's where we differ. The beginnings are by far the hardest part for me. What has been the hardest scene for you to write?

In Love Claus specifically… I’d have to say it was the first scene with the Reindeer.

It may have been hard to write but it was great :) Do you have any favorite characters?

Santa is my favorite character in Love Claus, because he isn’t like the traditional Santa. He’s conning, sneaky, and just a little bit naughty.
Being just a bit naughty is so much fun! Tell us more about The Naughty North Pole :)

The North Pole isn’t all snowflakes and candy canes as you would think. There are some naughty behind the scenes moments that you’d never expect.
Lovelies, you're going to love Genevieve's take on The North Pole :) Trent is very sexy. Is he based on anyone in particular?

Yes, Trent is based on a real person, but unfortunately I’m not allowed to divulge the info :)

Oh, you're just cruel :P Do you plan to write any more holiday (not necessarily Christmas) themed stories?

I am going to be writing a book in the Naughty North Pole Novels every Christmas until everyone’s story is told. As for other holidays, you never know. I love all the holidays, as you can tell, and if the opportunity arises I just might. I’m thinking St. Patrick’s Day, but don’t tell anyone ;-)
Don't worry, your secret's safe with me! Tell us a bit about your other books please.

A Mother’s Day Murder: Donna’s Story and A Father’s Day Fatality: Tigria’s Story were my first born babies. They are both mystery romances and take place on the Chokey Reservation. They have everything I love, Native American men, cops, and suspense.
Hear that lovelies? More books to check out! What's next for you?

I am working on the second and third books in the Naughty North Pole Novels and then I am also working on the first book in a series called The Birds of Paradise.
Well I for one can't wait to see more from you Genevieve!! Anything else you want your readers to know?

Not really, I just want them to know that I am very grateful for their support!

Thank you so much for joining me today! It has been a pleasure to get to know you better :)

Review of Love Claus

About the book:
Price: $0.99
Length: 78 pages
Genre: Romance
Description (from Amazon.com):

Cindy Gingerman loves the Christmas holiday, but sometimes she feels like she’s the only one. Her parents don’t celebrate, her best friend would rather be in Tahiti than watch the snow fall, and Cindy’s been single for a while. What a depressing Christmas.
Until, Trent shows up at her door dressed like Santa and holding a tree. Something draws her to him and she lets him into her home and her head…
Now, the only question is, will she let him into her heart as well?

Trent Claus knew that Cindy was his destined bride. From the moment he saw her, there was no denying it. The only challenge he had to face was getting her to believe it as well. Can he do it?

“Sweet Cindy…”

He believes he can, until his father falls ill and he has to move his plans along a lot faster than expected. What will Cindy think of his little town and the truth of who he is?
Will she run like his ex-girlfriend had? Or will she stay and make him the luckiest, and happiest, man on Earth?

“Please don’t go…”

What I liked:

This was a nice, fast read. At just 78 pages, I was able to zip through it pretty quickly and these days, I just don't have time to read. I hadn't planned on reviewing it so soon but I made the mistake of reading the first couple of pages and was hooked. I generally don't go for pure romance because I'll be honest, they tend to bore me. Luckily, Genevieve kept me entertained throughout and Trent was damn sexy. I'm claiming his as mine. No one else gets him. Mine. But I digress lol. It was well written and despite the fact Christmas was a month ago, it was wonderful to be transported right back into the holiday spirit. Holiday themed books can sometimes be cheesy, but this felt well balanced and I loved it.

Did I mention this was sexy as hell? No? Cause it is. Very sexy. But, Trent is mine. Sorry, ladies, I call dibs ;)

What I didn't like:

Honestly? I can't think of anything I didn't like :)

Overall Verdict: 5/5 Blue Duckies!

If you're looking for a fun, quick, sexy read, look no further! Just because it's no longer Christmas doesn't mean you can't get into the holiday spirit. And let's face it, if The North Pole is this sexy, I'll set aside my hatred of the cold ;)

Meet Genevieve!

I'm just a small town girl living her dream of being a published author! I'm also a photographer, artist, crafter, etc... I just love to create!

Interview with Nancy S. Reece!!

Well lovelies, if you're reading this it means the world has not ended...yet! Joining me today on The Lindsay Show is the fantabulous Nancy S. Reece!! Thank you so much for stopping by on what could be our last day on earth ;) Let's get started in case the Mayans are correct lol

Interview

Thank you again for choosing to spend the day the world ends with me on The Lindsay Show! Hopefully we'll be able to finish the interview before the end ;) When did you know you wanted to be a writer?

I won a writing contest in 7th grade and have always been good at storytelling. Even while pursuing other careers the idea never left, and I have many workbooks full of story ideas from as far back as the 1980s.
Oh yay, congrats on winning! That's so awesome :) What has been the most difficult part about being a writer?

Balancing all the various hats I wear: business owner, wife, mother, friend, and writer. When I am in full on writing mode, everything and everyone else tend to disappear. I know it makes me appear uncaring at times, but that’s not true.
Yes, I've learned it can be so hard to keep everything separate. As indie authors, we must truly be jacks of all trades. Who are your favorite authors?

It depends on the genre. For Science Fiction and Fantasy I love J.R.R. Tolkien, Robert Heinlein, Stephen R. Donaldson, and Terry Brooks. In adventure Clive Cussler’s heroes are sexy and daring.
Those are some great authors and a few I don't recognize but will definitely check out! :) What authors inspire you?

All authors inspire me in one way or another. People don’t realize how hard writing really can be. It isn’t just banging away at a computer keyboard. You have to think farther ahead than the next paragraph.
I couldn't agree more. It is so much more than putting words on a paper and I admire everyone who undertakes this challenge! Do you like to plan your scenes out or do you just wing it?

I plan out the long range goal of the scene in relation to the storyline, but typically let the action develop as the scene unfolds in my mind. Luckily I ‘see’ words as pictures and that makes it easier.
I think that's a great way to approach it. Too much planning and you end up fighting with your characters in my opinion. What type of books do you like to read?

Just about anything. My mother was a librarian, and I grew up pulling books from every area when I was bored. I can be just as comfortable with a history of the world as with a romance novel. I don’t read hard core erotica however.
I love that diversity in interest! It certainly makes it easier to find a book to read ;) What do you like to do in your free time?

What’s free time? LOL, I like to garden or spend time with my family doing something outdoors. I like to play golf and ride horses; my interests are varied.
Hahaha I know right? Who has free time?! Where is your favorite place to vacation?

Across the bay from Puerto Vallarta city there is a small beach sheltered with palm trees and with the clearest blue water. The trade winds blow and a hammock between two trees has my name written all over it. Closer to home, we love the beach and the mountains.
Oo that sounds gorgeous. I wonder how hard it'll be to talk hubby into taking me to visit there :) Do you have any special holiday traditions?

We all gather together on Christmas night with our closest friends to enjoy prime rib and the works. No turkey or ham, and we play board games or watch movies, a nice relaxing end to an otherwise frenetic day.
Oh, that's lovely. My husband would love to get together with you since prime rib is one of his favorite foods lol. Why did you choose to write fantasy romance?

I have always loved fantasy stories, especially epics. When I finally began putting words to paper, fantasy seemed the natural genre. And of course, no epic story is complete without an epic romance! Mine is a little more tame than most, but with a 15 year old daughter, I wanted to write something she and her friends could read without hesitation.
Love it and love that you wrote it so your daughter could read it too. My daddy will never be able to read my books because I can't imagine him reading the more intimate scenes lol. What has been the most fun about working on your books?

The most fun about working on my books would have to be seeing the story come full circle. I see these people in my head, and watch their lives unfold, and to have the ability to transfer that to paper and let other people enjoy the action is wonderful.
I agree, that's such an awesome feeling when it all comes together and everything unfolds! What has been the hardest scene for you to write?

Without a doubt, the hardest scene to write would have to be Vivienne’s rape. I wanted to make it clear what was happening without sacrificing the emotional crisis she is going through. My editor, the fabulous Greta van der Rol, really beat me up on that chapter.
I can only imagine how hard that scene would be to write! *hugs* Do you have any favorite characters?

Well, I love all my characters, even the villains. But my favorite would probably be the hero’s brother Theirran. He is a tortured middle child, handsome and a complete rogue. Guess it’s true what they say about liking the ‘bad boy’!

Theirran sounds great! I can't wait to read this :) Tell us about your hero and heroine please.

Vivienne is an only child, daughter of kings. Her life has been hard, due to the strange circumstances surrounding her birth when her mother died, and her future was cast by an enemy druid. She is quiet, shy, insecure and unsure she is ready for the fate suddenly thrust upon her shoulders. Vivienne is a Mystic, gifted with the ability to control fire and electricity. Devon is a Blood Warrior, a man born to fight. Her strength comes from her Protector, our hero Devon. Present at Vivienne’s birth, he is older but their relationship is unique, bound together by magic. His love for Vivienne is deep and strong; he waits for her nineteenth birthday before marrying her, despite knowing the hard road ahead of her. They are two parts of the same soul.
You do realize that now I really want to read your book right? Your characters sound amazing. How did you come up with the premise for the Guardian Trilogy?

I have always been a student of history, and I worked with computers for many years. After hearing a story about the Seed Bank Project, where seeds from all plants are being saved against any apocalypse, I began to think about how other forms of history, art, science, etc. could be saved for future generations; and what information would we not want future humans to know or emulate. That led to thinking what might happen if we were charged with creating a future better than our pasts. Soon Vivienne and Devon appeared in my thoughts, and the story developed from there.
I've just recently heard about that project! That's it, I'm running out and snagging your book right now lol. Can you tell us more about the world in which Catalyst is set?

Catalyst is set more than five thousand years into the earth’s future. Man has already destroyed most civilizations with nuclear weapons. But some people were saved in Sanctuaries, self-contained centers created by scientists and engineers to protect a remnant of humanity for repopulation when the earth was ready. The stories are set in the Five Kingdoms: geographic areas named from the centers from which they are descended. These are the Northern Kingdom, Western Kingdom, Southern Kingdom, Central Plains, and the Eastern Empire. Druids are the scientists of this world, protectors of nature against future destruction. However, constant exposure to various levels of radiation has changed humanity, given them powers of various types. There are three main talents: Healers, Warrior, and Mystics.
Your world sounds so rich and diverse. Love it! Tell us about the future books and when can we expect the next one?

Catalyst is the first of a trilogy, The Guardian Stories. Book Two has just been submitted, and should be out sometime next year. Another novel, set in the world of Catalyst, part of a series called “The Five Kingdom Tales” is also underway. Book Three is in the outline stages at this time.
Squeeee! I will have to be sure to get cracking on Catalyst so I'm ready for the next books! We are just about out of time, but can you tell us what's next for you?

Lots of writing! I have a short romance, set in the stables of international show jumping, which has been submitted but not yet accepted. I also am planning a children’s book, based on the rescue horses I work with, telling their stories and explaining about responsible pet ownership, no matter the size of the pet!
Always love hearing an author friend say they're up for lots more writing! Well Nancy, we made it through the interview without the world ending! Happy dance time!! Anything else you want your readers to know?

If you liked Catalyst – hang on! It’s going to be a bumpy ride through Book Three!

I, for one, cannot wait to read this trilogy! Thank you so much for coming by Nancy!
Thanks so much for the interview Lindsay, and good luck with your new book, “Breaking the Nexus”

Aww, thank you sweetie! *big hugs*

Interview and REVIEW with Alexa Bourne!!!

Hello again lovelies! As some of you may know, I'm a bit addicted to contests. I have a slight gamblers nature and who doesn't adore the opportunity to win something giving nothing but your name and email address? Well, I'd like to pay back the generous authors who hold contests by reviewing their books, although it's going to take me quite a while to squeeze in the reviews. Not like I'm busy or anything right? ;)

Today is one of those fantabulous authors, Alexa Bourne! Do you like Highlanders? If you don't, what planet are you from?! What's not to love about sexy, dominant, protective Highlanders? I mean, really come on LOL.

When I say Highlanders do you think medieval times? I know I did. Imagine my surprise and elation when I discovered Alexa writes modern day romantic suspense featuring Highlanders!! You heard me right people. You need to read her book Her Highland Champion. Ok without further ado, let's meet Alexa!

Interview

First of all, thank you again for giving away your books, it's given me the opportunity to discover them and I freaking ADORED Her Highland Champion! Let's get started. When did you know you wanted to be a writer?

I’ve been writing stories for as long as I can remember, but I didn’t seriously consider getting published until I was out of college.

That's awesome that you did seriously consider it. How else would I have gotten my Malcolm fix?! What has been the most difficult part about being a writer?

Finding the balance between promotion and writing. Sometimes I’m overwhelmed because I love blogging, interviewing and interacting with readers, but I have to remember to write as well!

Alexa, sweetie, are we related? LOL I have the exact same problem, ask anyone ;) Who are your favorite authors?

My absolute authors, the ones I always know I’m going to love are Laura Griffin, Jill Shalvis, Suzanne Brockmann, John Hart, Alexander McCall Smith.

Excellent choices and some I've never heard of...*sigh* that TBR pile grew again. What authors inspire you?

Pretty much every author because it’s not an easy business and anyone who sticks with it long enough to get published and see their dream come true is an inspiration.

I'm the same way. I used to think, 'Oh this is easy to be a writer! You just sit and write!' Yeah, not so much lol. Do you like to plan your scenes out or do you just wing it?

LOL. I have to wing it. I usually have a general idea of what the conflict is and who the characters are when I start a rough draft, but I find out all the details as I write. I once wrote a book starting at page 1 after plotting it all out and I was bored by page 20! (Needless to say THAT story never got finished!)

See? We're related, guarantee you. That's the exact way I am! What type of books do you like to read?

It depends on my mood. Romantic suspense is my favorite, but I love holiday stories, historical, non-fiction true crime, soldier stories and inspirational. For example, I received a Barnes & Noble gift card or my birthday and with it I bought Laura Griffin’s newest book Scorched, Thomas Paine’s Common Sense and Head Over Heels by Jill Shalvis.

Love those genres! Romantic suspense is one of my personal favorites :) What do you like to do in your free time?

Free time? What’s that?

OMG I know right? If you ever figure it out, please tell me lol. Where is your favorite place to vacation?

Scotland, England.

Now I'm jealous. Always wanted to visit Scotland. *wistful sigh* Maybe after hubby is done with his residency lol. Thanksgiving was last week so I've gotta ask. Do you have any special Thanksgiving traditions?

Nope. I just spend time with the family and watch football. (I LOVE sports!) I’m not a cook so everyone always asks me to bring dessert or rolls.

Love it! Nice, relaxing, and no cooking. Could it get much better for you lol? Why did you choose to write romantic suspense?

It’s what I love. I grew up on TV shows that focused on the bad guys getting what they deserved so that’s what I started to write. My 1st 100+ page story was written when I was in middle school. It was fan fiction for The A-Team and in it a couple of teenage girls helped the Team defeat a couple of guys who were holding hostages in the diner where the girls worked.

You know, best advice I ever got was from my husband who told me to write what I love. What has been the most fun about working on your books?

I love to be surprised by my characters! (I’m one of those authors who believes the characters guide the story and I just write what they tell me.)

I'm the same way. One of my characters was supposed to just have a very minor role then BAM! all of a sudden he had a whole backstory and was getting his own book lol. How do you come up with the premise for your books?

Honestly, the premise usually comes from a TV show or a movie and I think, “What if THIS happened instead?”

I've done that too! See? Related. What has been the hardest scene for you to write?

That’s a tough question. There are hard scenes in every story.

Def agree on that one. Do you have any favorite characters from your books?

Yep. I love Meggie MacDougall from Her Highland Champion. She’s a secondary character and she’s the town gossip, but she’s got a great heart. She loves her family and is fiercely loyal to her friends. I’m actually working on a short story for her that I’ll hopefully be able to share with everyone in the spring.

Her character was so fun! I hope I get to read more about her :) Is there any reason why you chose to write about Highlanders?

I love Scotland and I’d move tomorrow if I had a way to support myself. I read a lot of historical stories with Highlanders, but I wondered why people didn’t write about the courage and sexiness of contemporary Scotsmen. So, I decided to write my own.

All I can say is I'm so damn glad you had that opinion! Modern day sexy Scotsmen need love too! I love the fact that this is a contemporary Highlander book! Do you think you’ll ever write a historical Highlander book, or will you stick to contemporary?

Funny you should ask this. My fantabulous senior editor asked me to write an historical short story set in Scotland for their new Tease line. I was excited to try, but after working on it for over 2 months and still not finishing, I realized and accepted that my voice just doesn’t mesh with historicals.

Totally understandable. I'm not sure I'd be able to work within those confines either, but hey you gave it a shot right? With this being set in Scotland, did you find you had to do a lot of research?

I did some, but I’ve been fortunate enough to visit Scotland several times. I had an English friend who went to university in Edinburgh so she helped me a bit too.

Still jealous you've gotten to visit Scotland lol. Her Highland Champion is part of your Honor Guard series. Can you tell us more about it and what we can expect from future books?

Actually, Honor Guard is the name of the series of Decadent Publishing. All Honor Guard stories are set in countries other than the US and they include local culture. However, all my Honor Guard books are in a series, my International Protective Network (or IPN) series. All this means is each of my Honor Guard books has one character who works for the IPN. Readers don’t have to read them in order and won’t miss anything if they only read one. If you do read them all, though, some of the characters show up or are mentioned and sometimes it’s just a richer experience.

Ohh, ok. That makes sense :) We are running a bit short on time and I'm dying to give my review, btu tell us, what's next for you?

My second IPN book came out November 6th. Fractured Paradise has a female IPN employee who visits Sunderland, England to do a favor for her favorite person in the world. Unfortunately, someone doesn’t want her there, but she finds an unlikely ally in a local tour guide.  My 3rd IPN book, Simple Treasures, will be released next month and for that we go back to Edinburgh during Hogmanay (New Year’s) where the hero must protect a woman in order to secure a job with the IPN. But the woman refuses to blindly follow his orders.

Did you hear that people? More books coming up so get reading! Thank you so much for joining me today, Alexa! Anything else you want your readers to know?

I appreciate everyone’s support! Thank you! And thank you for having me.

It was my pleasure! Well lovelies, seriously go read her books! But if you need more incentive, here's my review of Her Highland Champion!

 Buy it:

What I liked:

Where do I begin? This book was fast paced, featured a very sexy, protective Highlander, lots of plot twists packed into novella size. It was so well written and engaging, I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. Loved the instant attraction between Malcolm and Heather, but also loved how Malcolm tried to fight it. He couldn't hold out of course, but he gave it a valiant effort ;) I had to laugh when Malcolm kept trying to find a way to put some distance between himself and Heather at the beginning and kept getting thwarted :) This had me dying to find out what happened and how it was all going to end. Did I mention the sex scenes? They were HOT. Really left me wishing for a Highlander of my own :)

What I didn't like:

My one big complaint, and maybe this is just me or the fact that it was a novella, was the ending. I loved how it ended, but I wish the plot twist had been explored more. I think it was a great conflict and really wished it had played out for longer. It just wrapped up a little too quickly for me. Maybe I'm just greedy lol

That being said, this was still one of my favorite books I've read in a while, and I started rereading it immediately after I finished, always a sign I'm in love with the book :)

Overall Verdict: 4.5/5 Blue Duckies!!

Yes, I know I gave it 4.5 but there are 5 in the picture but could YOU cut one of them in half? Didn't think so.

Definitely go read this book and every other one you can get your hands on by Alexa. I'm not kidding when I say this is one of my favorite books, despite my minor gripe :) It has it all, romance, sexy Highlanders (no I can't say that enough!), suspense, steamy scenes. Yeah, just go grab it and read it for yourself, you won't regret it!

Song of the Abyss by Lindsay Avalon

Princess Nerissa had envisioned a perfect wedding to a handsome prince. Instead, she fell into a nightmare. When her new husband tries to murder her just hours after pledging his life to her, she must flee towards the sea. Caught in transition from woman to selkie, she is trapped by the dark waters she hoped would be her salvation. Now her destiny becomes that of luring young men to their death…until one comes along that reignites the spark of love inside her. However to ensure her future, she must first face her past. Revenge must be taken…for both her life, and the life of the young man she now loves.

Miss Cavendish and the Spark of Salvation by Tara S Wood

In a city toiling under the iron fist of the Spiegel Syndicate and its monopoly on coal, Miss Georgina "George" Cavendish is on the brink of a breakthrough that could change the world forever. There's just one thing standing in her way, her aunt - Xenobia Cavendish. Threatened by her efforts, the Syndicate procures the services of a notorious assassin with a past tied to her own, known as The Huntsman, to dispatch the brilliant scientist. But once he gets a glimpse of the headstrong beauty, will he be able to do the job, or will Georgina sway him to The Cause? And will George find the breakthrough she needs in time, or is New London Town doomed to forever lie under the dark shadow of her aunt's factories?

Hawke and the Beast  by Trish M Dawson

Some curses last forever, and some can be broken with the whisper of three little words. Isabella Rose Woodward fell in love with a witch's son over a century ago. Her punishment for breaking the young man's heart was a beastly one. Every month she turns into a different creature, aging on the full moon when her curse allows for a brief return to her human form. Her only salvation is to find a man that will love her as she is…be it adorned in feathers, fur or scales. Has she found this love with the handsome Jasper Hawke? Or will a mysteriously determined Hunter find her first, and snuff out the life she so desperately seeks? A life of normalcy, where she loves and is loved in return… just as she is.

Reborn City by Miranda Stork

Nyx has one mission in life; bring down the brainwashing of New Omsk’s citizens, and release them from their mundane lives of toil. The year is 2355, and the world is a new place. A Governor is in charge of every city in the world, and humanity is attempting to rebuild itself after recovering from a war that nearly killed it. Eternal Island Release Day!!!

Eternal Island

Lovelies I have the great honor of introducing the latest release by one of my dearest friends, Kristie Haigwood and Ella Medler!

A place where vampires rule, witches play, danger lurks and dreams really do come true.

Eternal Island is a paranormal suspense novel, deeply rooted into myth. Vampires and magic form a unique backdrop to a love story with long reaching consequences. Human girl Ariana Lochalan finds herself transported from the relative calm of her ‘Nowhere, Arkansas’ life into a diametrically opposite existence when she discovers she is a powerful witch and meant to wed High Vampire of Eternal Island, Abe Cambridge. Despite first-sight magnetism, the two protagonists are being pushed apart, obstacles tripping them at every step, outside forces interfering and threatening their peace, and ultimately their lives.

A world rich in magic and intrigue, Eternal Island is the first installment of a saga which has love at its core and delves through the mire that is human nature in a turmoil of feeling and emotion. Would courage, resilience and love be enough to bring together two soul mates?

How much would you sacrifice to save the one who owns your heart?

Adjusting Journal Entries...OUT NOW!!

Sometimes…Revenge Is A Bitch – The Long-Awaited Finale “Adjusting Journal Entries” Is Available Now!

The many facets of revenge are explored in this series. In the first novel, Accountable to None, the heroine experienced numerous life-altering events that set her on a course for revenge. The term revenge is a dish best served cold has never been more accurate. The flawed protagonist waited five years to wield her sword of vengeance and her rewards were sweet and fulfilling.

In the sequel, Zero Balance, the aftereffects of obtaining revenge are explored. Oftentimes while one is plotting and planning the downfall of others by making them accountable for their actions, they can suffer tunnel vision. They don't stop to consider how their actions, even if morally justified, will touch others. The quote by John Milton from Paradise Lost is in the beginning of Zero Balance and speaks this truth:  “Revenge, at first though sweet, Bitter ere long back on it self recoils;”

The third and final book, Adjusting Journal Entries, touches upon the depth of madness that anger and pain can drive someone to. How much emotional pain and heartache can one human being endure before their sanity breaks and they become a killer?

Revenge is a normal human response to physical and mental pain. I would imagine that most of you reading this have, at one time or another, experienced a moment where you wanted to make someone pay for the pain they caused you. The players in this series do just that--they live out that dark fantasy. Unfortunately, the repercussions are tremendous.

I invite you to explore the world of revenge in this series.

All books are available in eBook and print book on both Amazon US and Amazon UK.

Synopsis:

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. But when it comes to human emotions, the reaction is never equal. No one understands this lesson better than the partners at the prestigious accounting firm of Winscott & Associates.

Greed, power, money and sex left six people dead and four in the hospital…

Audra Tanner never realized how far and deep the ripple she created in her revenge pool would extend. Now as the dust settles on the explosion that rocked not only her life, but the lives of countless others, Audra must fight to gain control over her life.

Because others are out to end it.

What People Are Saying About Adjusting Journal Entries...

“I just finished reading Ashley Fontainne’s Adjusting Journal Entries and was I pleasantly surprised! I am not sure what genre to place it in: Legal thriller? Psychological thriller? Mind blowing ass kicking thriller? They all apply. Five stars is an understatement. Damn good reading!”
– Zach Fortier, bestselling author –

Ms. Fontainne is an excellent writer and excels at creating tenuous plots with sudden new sub-plots that take the reader by surprise. For those readers who enjoy mysteries, intrigue, thrills and danger, I heartily recommend this story.
– Joan Adamak, Amazon reviewer –

Oh what a tangled web Ashley Fontainne weaves! The attention to detail throughout the series is astounding, leading up to an intense and insane conclusion. Nothing happens by chance or coincidence...everything that happens is tied together with a great big action-packed bow...Fontainne is an undeniable talent and is...a force to be reckoned with in the publishing world.
– Charlotte Foreman, reviewer for BestChickLit.com –

Nothing short of mind blowing. Nothing is predictable – that is what makes this series awesome. The story twists and leaves you shocked and on tenterhooks... Ashley Fontainne has created three dimensional characters, some you love, others you really love to hate. They have an impact on you, and even after you turn the last page and you know your time with them has come to an end, they live on inside you.
– author Lindsay Anne Kendal  –

Fontainne...has a brilliant way of bringing to life the twisted psyches of her antagonists and she does it again in Adjusting Journal Entries. Fontainne has the unique ability to juggle several themes throughout her books as she artfully weaves them together, like a beautifully wrapped present...this last book will not disappoint.
– author Joanna Lee Doster –

About Ashley Fontainne:

International bestselling author Ashley Fontainne is an avid reader of mostly the classics. Ashley became a fan of the written word in her youth, starting with the Nancy Drew mystery series. Stories that immerse the reader deep into the human psyche and the monsters that lurk within us are her favorite reads.

Her muse for penning this series was The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas. The revenge on all those who hurt and betrayed Edmond Dantes and the incredible rollercoaster ride his journey takes you on intrigued her. Ashley’s love for this book is what sparked her desire to write her debut novel, Accountable to None, the first book in the trilogy Eviscerating the Snake. With a modern setting to the tale, Ashley delves into the lengths a person is willing to go when they seek personal justice for heinous acts perpetrated upon them. The second novel in the series, Zero Balance, focuses on the cost and reciprocal cycle that obtaining revenge has on the seeker. For once the cycle starts, where does it end? How far will the tendrils of revenge expand? Adjusting Journal Entries, the third in the series, answers that question: far and wide.

Born and raised in California, Ashley now calls Arkansas home with her husband and four children. She also enjoys writing poetry and short stories and recently published Ramblings of a Mad Southern Woman: A Collection of Short Stories and Poetry on Life, Love, Loss and Longing, which is available on Amazon. Ashley is also a supporter of the Joyful Heart Foundation that assists victims of violent crime seeking help and healing, and donates 10% of all yearly book sales to the cause.

This gorgeous rendering (as well as the cover) was designed by none other than the fantabulous Miranda Stork!

Now everybody knows the story of Cinderella right? How she was a hacker? No? Oh, my mistake...guess you'll just have to wait for the anthology to come out ;) In the meantime, here's your snippet!

Her fingers trembled as she tried to fix the wires in place. A tickling bead of sweat rolled slowly down her temple, and she had to grit her teeth to resist wiping it away. Nyx blinked, trying hard to concentrate on the task before her. Her long fingers worked fast, twisting the small steel threads in one go. Heaving a sigh of relief, she pushed them behind the metal plate on the wall, darting a glance around to check she was still alone.
The lights above were off, leaving the passageway in darkness, except for the glowing panels along the walls. They created an eerie blue glimmer, resonating with a soft humming. Nyx swiftly grabbed up her bag, and ran along the corridor, her footsteps echoing. She winced at the sound, pausing for a second. Her breath caught in her throat as she listened for anyone nearby.
Her heart thundered in her chest. The leather suit she had forced herself to wear was far too warm, and it was making her itch in places she didn’t think existed. Rolling her shoulders in an event to make herself more comfortable, she tried to shift it around, to stop it sticking. It didn’t help, and only succeeded in fusing more of it to her awkwardly. Nyx let out an exasperated hiss, blowing a strand of hair from her forehead. Her footsteps clattered as she raced along the passage, darting into a dark corner, where she could just see the glint of a steel casing.
Placing her bag down, she rummaged around for one of her tools, the slender objects jostling together. She pulled out a long, tapered one, and began to pry at the edges of the casing. Gritting her teeth, she pushed hard on it, until the edges became loose. Nyx paused for a second, her wrist aching, and then began to push on it again. The casing creaked and refused to give way, until it suddenly fell off with a loud crashing sound, bouncing on the hard floor.
Nyx held her breath, listening intently again. She inwardly cursed herself for being so careless, and snatched the plate up, leaning it carefully against the wall. She felt in the bag for a small wiry tool, which was resonating at one bulbous end. Holding it tightly, Nyx pressed the end against a section of coloured wires in the recess left by the metal plate. It began to burn brighter, and tiny sparks danced away from it as it touched the wires. The glow became heated, and the wires snapped, melted by the molten heat. Throwing the tool back into her bag, Nyx reached into her pocket and snatched out a small device, with more wires hanging from one end.
The object was no more than four or five inches in length, and flat. Grabbing the other wires, Nyx began to twist them onto the object, repeating her task from a minute or two ago. Her fingers moved fast as she clicked it into place, and slid the metal plate back over the recess again.
This was a difficult job. Nyx was a ‘Runner’; a computer hacker for the United Group for the Liberation of Individuals, otherwise known as U.G.L.I. The group was made up mainly of women, thanks to the first brainwashing of the citizens claiming most of the men. The women referred to one another as ‘sisters’, now made sisters through pain if not blood.
The Governor was in charge of the whole city. Two-hundred and fifty-three years ago, in 2024, there had been a great war. It had nearly wiped out mankind, and it had taken another seventy years before humanity picked itself off the floor and dusted itself down. Small towns began to pop up, and some grew into cities. No-one was connected though. Only the Governors of each city or town met to discuss business with one another; trade for each place. Citizens were forbidden from leaving the towns or cities, and being found outside of them was punishable by death. Luckily for Nyx, she had never been found yet.
Looking up, she grabbed the bag again, and scampered along the floor, racing into another dark corner. She was about to reach into her pack once more, when she heard a sound. The blood froze in her veins as she realised she could hear heavy footsteps marching straight towards her. The darkened space suddenly didn’t seem big enough to hold her.
An echo danced off the walls and mocked her, the steady rhythm of the steps getting closer and closer. Breath held in her throat, Nyx silently let go of the bag, and slid her hand inside her boot, drawing out an ebony knife. Her emerald eyes opened wide with anticipation as she readied herself, dabbing her tongue out at her dry lips. Blood pounded in her ears, a steady rhythm to the heated rush of adrenaline pumping through her veins, and she tightened her grip on the knife.
The footsteps were suddenly only a few feet away from her hiding space. Nyx pressed herself as close to the wall behind as she could, trying to dissolve into the shadows. She could hear heavy breathing, but didn’t dare take a look around the corner. There was a clunking sound, as though the panel had been pulled away again. Muttering came from behind the wall, and then a soft clicking sound, like a gun being cocked.
Nyx closed her eyes tightly, and counted to three under her breath, swallowing hard.
Her body moved like lightening. Nyx jumped out from behind the corner, landing heavily on the body of the guard. His visor went flying off, revealing two shocked brown eyes. It only took a second for his reflexes to kick in, throwing her off, and reaching for his gun. Nyx jumped away, righting herself gracefully as she landed. Moving fast, she swung her leg out at the gun, kicking it behind her. As she moved, she veered her arm around, slicing the knife across his neck as he stood up. He hissed in agony, and grabbed at the open cut. It wasn’t a deep slice, but enough to bleed. The guard staggered forwards, reaching out for Nyx with flailing arms. Breathing heavily, she slowly stepped back, watching as he stumbled to the floor, trying desperately to reach for the communicator hanging from his belt. Her eyes stared nervously as he clasped it...and then fell flat out on the tiled floor.
