That's not all...Welcome to the third blog hop of the month! It's the Hearts on Fire Blog Hop!
Before I get to the amazing prizes you can win, I want to share my favorite Valentine's Day memory. It happened yesterday :) My husband is in medical school and is in a different city this month so he bought my gifts online and shipped them to me. I waited for several days, dying from the anticipation, and when I got home there were two packages with that magical Amazon logo.
Now I thought I knew what he got me but I was so so wrong. He bought me a beautiful Mickey Mouse figurine holding a heart (we had our honeymoon in Disney World and I have been dying to go back ever since), a giant box of Ferrero candies (one of my favorite candies that I almost never indulge in), and the book Warm Bodies that I've been wanting to read so badly ever since I first saw the movie trailer.
It's not often he can completely floor me but I burst into tears. The fact that he knew me so well and picked out such perfect gifts was a wonderful surprise and even though he can't spend Valentine's Day with me, I know he's thinking about me <3
What can you win on this blog hop? Well, I'm personally giving away a $5 Amazon Gift Card that you can enter through the rafflecopter below.

How about I give you a little Valentine's Day present of my own? I'm releasing a novella in my Mythrian Realm so here's a little snippet to keep you wanting more :)
Achaius led the way out of the training grounds before turning toward the woods. His panther caught the first scent of pine and began to pace within his mind, eager to be let out. Behave, he ordered, grinning when he received a snarl in response. It wasn’t his fault he hadn’t be able to let the panther roam these past few days and Achaius wasn’t any happier about being unable to shift.
“Where are we going?” Saia asked, her voice devoid of emotion. The panther whined, pushing harder to be released, wanting to brush against her side in an effort to comfort. Achaius couldn’t blame the animal; he didn’t like the defeat he saw in the slump of her shoulders. Saia Makan had in turn drove him to the brink of madness and the brink of desire for years. Though they had never been partners, their paths crossed often since they were in the same squadron. Their sparring energized him and he drew great pleasure from getting under her skin.
When she hadn’t been at the memorial for Treven, Achaius hadn’t been surprised. Saia didn’t like to display her emotions publicly, preferring to bottle them up or release them in a good fight. Too bad. He wasn’t going to let her retreat into herself, not when he could feel the crashing waves of her grief despite her best efforts to barricade herself behind her shields.
“Come on, Achaius. I’m tired and don’t feel like going for a leisurely stroll tonight. Where are you leading me.”
“Sorry, didn’t realize it was past your bed time, Feel free to head on back and crawl into bed with the other babies.”
Sparks flashed in her violet eyes, the first sign of life he’d seen since leaving the fighting rings. “Bite me, kitty cat.”
“Love to,” he replied, flashing a grin as he let his teeth shift into those of the panther. It took more energy to shift only a small part of his body, but the shaky laugh he elicited from Saia made it worth the effort.
Now then, before you run I have one more little Valentine's Day gift for you. My debut paranormal romance, Breaking the Nexus is on sale for Valentine's Day! That's right!
Breaking the Nexus is just $2.99 for Valentine's Day!!
A warrior trying to save humans. A detective searching for a killer. And a romance neither expected.
Throughout history, myths and legends of extraordinary creatures have been told and retold. Fantastic tales of demons and banshees, gryphons and dragons, and of course, magic. Stories that every child grows to learn are nothing more than fantasy…or are they?
Beyond the world you see lies a hidden realm, the Mythrian Realm, inhabited by all of the creatures you’ve been told are mere fiction. Only one thing lies between humans and the truth: the Nexus. A magical barrier erected millennia ago to separate the two realms, it has stood the test of time. Until now.
For Mythrian Sha Phoenix, magic is nothing new. But when she stumbles upon a portal on the verge of collapse, her fate will forever change. Pulled through the portal into the Human Realm, she lands in the middle of Detective Connor Flynn’s brutal murder scene. Soon it is obvious someone is using blood magic to try to bring down the Nexus. Together, Connor and Sha must work to unravel the secrets before the barrier falls and the realms collide.
The Nexus is breaking and all hell is about to unleash…literally.

DeleteAnything spent with my husband
ReplyDeleteI’ve never had a romantic prospect to celebrate the day with, but from the time I was a toddler, my family would give little Valentine’s gifts back and forth. Normally, I love giving gifts to my loved ones and rarely ask for anything in return, but I remember one year I returned from my college classes to find that my mom had decorated my desk for Valentine’s. She decorated my chair with red, heart-shaped garland, had a mylar rose balloon secured to one arm (so it wouldn’t bob up to the ceiling), had three red roses in a vase next to my monitor, and a plush puppy wearing boppers propped up in my chair. She knew how stressful that quarter was for me, and she was so thoughtful!
