Wicked After Dark Halloween Blog Hop - Meet Nerissa!!

Welcome to the first day of the Wicked After Dark Halloween Blog Hop!

*** Attention: Due to some fantastic responses, I will be adding a prize to my giveaway. Best comment on any post answering "What is the most wicked thing you've ever done?" will win a $10 Amazon Gift Card. This is in addition to the Rafflecopter below ***

This Halloween, my very first novella, Song of the Abyss, will be released in the anthology Once Upon A Twisted Time, brought to you by Moon Rose Publishing. I teamed up with the fantastic Miranda Stork, Tara S. Wood, and Trish Marie Dawson to bring you a collection of twisted fairy tales unlike anything you've ever read. Throughout this hop, I will bring you snippets featuring the heroines of each story. At the end of the hop, you'll have the chance to buy this spectacular anthology!!

Don't forget to go back to the last few posts on this blog where I introduced you to each of our alpha heroes!

Now without further ado, I would like you all to meet Nerissa!

All images relating to Once Upon A Twisted Time, including cover image and character renderings, are owned by Moon Rose Publishing and cannot be used or reproduced without the express written permission of Moon Rose Publishing

This gorgeous rendering (as well as the cover) was designed by none other than the fantabulous Miranda Stork!

Now can you guess what fairy tale I chose? Pretty obvious I drew some inspiration from The Little Mermaid, but this is nothing like any story you've ever read. Nerissa is a selkie caught in transformation, a siren who lures men to their doom seeking revenge against the man who tried to murder her on her wedding day. Don't worry though, she's not bad, but she is a bit wicked :)

Without warning, his mouth closed over hers. Hot, hungry, demanding. He gave her no room to escape, drove all thought from her brain as his tongue swept into her mouth. Despite the penetrating chill of the water, unexpected heat flashed through her body, eliciting a low moan from her. Unable to restrain herself, she pressed closer now fighting him for control of the kiss.
At some point his hands had gentled their grip on her arms and one slid up into her head. His fingers speared through her hair, angling her head back to take the kiss even deeper. Lyulf pinned her into place, locking her against a body lean and hardened. More, she had to have more. Her hands rose to grasp his head, still fighting the losing battle for dominance. She trailed her nails lightly down his chest, coaxing a light shiver from him.
Wait, what the hell was she doing? Rational thought slammed her back into the present moment and she wrenched free from his grasp. She struggled for her composure. "You, you had no right to do that." Was that husky, breathless voice truly her own?
A slow smile spread across his lips. "Really now? You didn't seem to mind it just a second ago."
She started to stammer a denial but caught it before she made even more of a fool of herself. "It's not going to happen again."

Stop back tomorrow to meet another heroine! Now for the giveaway...

  1. I'll leave my comment PG. Wicked you say.. umm.. sorry for the pause as my mind wondered.. umm..back on track now. For a work prank on someone's 30th bday we put up black and hapy 40th bday signs. Then we wrapped everything on her desk in black bags, individually. It just so happed that that morning she was due to give a presentation in front of our boss and the directer. It was great... she didn't think so at the time, but it was great. anywho... email is calley228(at)gmail(dot)com.

  7. Most wicked...well my mom had a boyfriend I didn't like so I bought a can of "good" dog food from the vet's office like we did for our dog and heated it up in a pan. I knew he was gonna ask me for some...just one of the many things I disliked about him. *Imean go make your own, right?* So I dished him out a bowl and told him it was corned beef hash. Didn't tell him what it really was until he was done eating...he didn't ask me for my food after that...LOL

  8. I haven't done too many "wicked" things in my life...yet. But I do, do my best to scare my younger cousins. It helps that I live in the woods and when they visit I jump out of trees with masks on and hide under things and stuff like that. Even though they're almost teenagers they still haven't learned to watch out for me haha.

  9. Hmmm...this is taking some heavy thought, LOL I guess the most wicked thing I've ever done is put a ton of pepper on my ex-husband's sandwich once and watched as he choked on the spice. We were still married at the time, I guess you can guess why we aren't anymore. LOL Thanks for the giveaway, sweetie. Beautiful blog.

  14. Nerissa: I love her! I actually had an evil sea witch in my last book named Nerissa as well! Only mine had been a beautiful nymph. I like how your's looks better!

Most Wicked: Oh my. I have to ask, wicked as in evil or wicked as in naughty? I think in any case I can't post that here! Well...there was this time that my wife and I got drunk in a hot tub with another couple. But I think that is all I can say about that.

Glad to be in this blogfest with you!

  15. My husband kept getting his lunch/dinner stolen at work, this happened for weeks. So we put bunch of hair toward the bottom of the spaghetti container. My husband came home giggling like a school girl when his lunch again got stolen that day. It never happened to him or anyone else after that. I almost feel a little bad about it.

  17. Probably shouldn't post my 'naughty' story, but how's this kinda naughty one.....on a work retreat to a Florida hot summer destination and finally had some free time, so a couple of us girls decided to go lay in the sun on the beach. Guess I was the only one who brought her thong bikini! The best part though that made me giggle for days? The 'hot' CEO of the company had to come down and lay out w/ us too! It was a fantastic 4 days! *laughs*
    Thanks so much,

  18. When I was a teenager, I used to hide life-size cardboard actors in places such as the bathroom and the kitchen. It works "every time" to scare the hell out of people. Even the ones that were warned still jumped while seeing those huge cardboard images; I even jumped myself a few times. Works better than any horror movie :)

  19. Not sure I can say the most wicked thing I have done and keep it PG 13, so I will just say I got to meet and hang out with a lot of bands when I was younger (no drugs) lots of drinking ......... and I will just leave it at that.

  20. Every April Fools Day I put a rubber band around the kitchen faucet sprayer to hold the spray button in the on position. When my Mom came down in the morning to make coffee she turned on the faucet and got all wet. She fell for it several years running!
